Ewens Ponds

The second pond is not quite as interesting with a depth of only 6 metres. A large crack in the limestone can be seen at the bottom of the pond. The growth in this pond is more like a sea grass and has less of the giant reeds that surround the first pond.

The third pond is a little over 8 metres deep but was much deeper with a cave located at the bottom. A number of years ago this was blasted closed for safety reasons. The third pond is very different from the other ponds and the interesting underwater features resemble some sort of alien moonscape.

The Ewens Ponds chain is not regarded as a sinkhole and can be dived without a cave diving permit.
